Recycling Tips
Get a recycling bin for your office or dorm room and put it next to your trash can. This helps to keep your trash separate from your recycling. You can call the Call Center at x1000 to place a request for a bin.
Collect cans and bottles for a deposit. If recycling for the sake of recycling does not strike your fancy then maybe recycling for money will. Most cans and bottles can be deposited in Massachusetts for a 5 cent refund. If you have twenty cans, that adds up to $1.00! Deposits can be made at our Fenway Shaw’s.
Buy reusable razors instead of disposable razors. Millions of plastic razors fill our landfills.
When buying coffee, bring your own mug. It will save plastic from being used and keeps heat in much better than a paper cup!
Avoid Styrofoam! Styrofoam is not recyclable, and does not disintegrate. If you get an iced beverage, ask for them not to put a Styrofoam cup around the plastic cup. Instead, use a napkin to put around the cup to absorb the moisture.
